Spanish giants FC Barcelona have shown great interest in a Dutch wonderkid, and their plan to land the player’s signature has now reportedly been revealed.
Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Frenkie de Jong is said to be at the top of Barca’s wish list ahead of the new season, with recent reports stating that the 21-year-old midfielder already has a verbal agreement with the club.
The Catalans have reportedly been following the impressive starlet for months, and feel it is possible to lure him from the Eredivisie to LaLiga in this window.

According to Sport, Ajax have rejected three offers from Barca as they want De Jong to help them in their UEFA Champions League qualifying matches. The Dutch giants will play against Sturm Graz in their first leg of the second round of qualifying on Wednesday, with the return fixture taking place next week
Ajax want to give themselves the best chance of securing qualification for the biggest club tournament in European football, and feel that De Jong is key in achieving that goal.




It has been claimed that Barca are in no rush to sign the player, considering that they have already have reached an agreement for his signature. De Jong has reportedly made it clear he would like to leave Ajax for the Blaugrana, either in this window or next season.
The midfielder could cost the Spanish club about €50 million (R790 million), but negotiations are likely to only begin after Ajax’s vital UCL qualifiers.
