A report out of Spain suggests that three Real Madrid stars are being closely monitored by English giants Manchester United, with Jose Mourinho looking to strengthen his squad before the transfer window closes.
With the window for Premier League teams closing on 9 August instead of on 31 August like in previous years, the pressure of signing players has now increased due to a lack of time to get deals done, especially with the distraction of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

According to Spanish publication AS, Mourinho is hoping to add a few fresh faces to his side, and is said to be keeping tabs on midfielder Toni Kroos, winger Gareth Bale and defender Raphael Varane.
Germany international Kroos is believed to be the Portuguese tactician’s main target out of the three abovementioned names, and has apparently asked his club to do everything they can to facilitate the move.
Real have reportedly told the English club they would need to activate the player’s €500 million (R7.8 billion) release clause should they want to sign him before his contract expires in 2022, a fee the Red Devils cannot afford.
United are also reportedly interested in Bale and 2018 FIFA World Cup winner Varane, but Real seem unlikely to want to sell either of them at this point in time.
