James Rodriguez struggled for regular game time at Real Madrid under Zinedine Zidane, and the midfielder has now commented on his relationship with the Los Blancos manager.
The Colombia international joined Bayern Munich on a two-year deal from Real after failing to establish a starting berth under Zidane.
Rodriguez will come up against Los Blancos in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final on Tuesday, and the midfielder insists he has no issues with Zidane.
“I was treated very well here. It was three unique years when I won many titles,” James said at his pre-match media conference, according to FourFourTwo.
“It also has something to do with respect for the club and the spectators.
“I don’t have any hard feelings towards Zidane. I just want to play week in, week out. There’s nothing against Zidane or this club.
“I am very happy [at Bayern] and just thinking of this game and of playing a good World Cup. Then we’ll see what happens.”
