The Italian was looking slightly hairier than usual at Friday's pre-match
news conference..
His new beard became a talking point and Conte, usually sporting a
clean-shaven look, explained his motivation for making his razor
redundant.
It turns out that Antonio Conte is a dutiful husband and his attempt to
grow a beard came at the request of his wife.

"I don't know if my look is good," said Conte ahead of this weekend's
Premier League match against West Brom.
"My wife suggested that I tried it for once, to try with a beard
"[It's] Not superstition. This is the first time. We can see tomorrow if this
beard brings luck or not.
"But I repeat, this is the first time
I've tried to change my look, but
only because my wife decided."
When then asked whether he'd
keep his beard if Chelsea keep
winning games, the Italian replied:
"Yes, yes.
"I hope at the end of the season to finish with a big beard."
With Chelsea having beaten Manchester United 1-0 before the
international break, the Blues now face a congested fixture list.
Since losing 2-1 to Crystal Palace, Chelsea have won three Premier
League matches in a row.
And Conte's side will be looking to make it four at the Hawthorns
tomorrow (3.00pm), the ground where they clinched the title last season.
