CHELSEA boss Antonio Conte will stay at the club next season after rediscovering his “mojo”.
That is the opinion of Sky Sports pundit and former Liverpool defender Phil Thompson.
Many thought Antonio Conte would be leaving Chelsea at the end of the season after a turbulent campaign on and off the pitch.
But Thompson has seen something in Conte in recent weeks which makes him think the Italian will now stay.
The Liverpool legend reckons Conte’s future will impact what Blues midfielder Cesc Fabregas does in the summer.
Thompson says Fabregas will probably leave Chelsea if Conte remains in charge.
“Do you know what, he seems to have got his mojo back doesn’t he in the last few weeks,” Thompson said of Conte.
“From him looking down and really depressed, you’re seeing other people linked with the Italian manager’s job which we all thought was nailed on for him.
“More and more in this last six weeks or so I think he’s looked a little bit happy with his lot.
think if he stays on, I think that might see Fabregas moving.
“I was thinking if they did make that change, Fabregas would see who was coming in.
“But I see probably Conte staying now but Fabregas moving.”
