Real Madrid may opt not to bid for Chelsea’s Eden Hazard in the summer.
Hazard has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu in recent months, but the London Evening Standard claims Madrid’s focus on him could be waning.

Although Madrid “were expected to step up their interest, it is understood that they have yet to make any form of inquiry to Chelsea or the Belgium international’s entourage and are not in any rush to do so.”
The report says “Hazard’s form has dipped and the Madrid hierarchy are not sure whether to proceed, particularly as they already have a similar talent in Marco Asensio, who is five years younger.”
Chelsea do not want to sell, with speculation suggesting they would want an offer of more than £100million, even as they remain hopeful that they can still agree a contract extension with the player.
Hazard’s current deal expires in 2020.
