Chelsea manager Antonio Conte doesn’t believe that his club are trying to land Alexis Sanchez.
On Monday it was reported that the Blues have joined Manchester United in the race to sign the Chile international.
When asked if the club would sign Sanchez, Conte replied: “I don’t know, I don’t think so
He added: “About the transfer market I prefer to talk to the club and give an opinion and I repeat I don’t want to give my opinion on that.”
Manchester City have reportedly pulled out from the race because they think the prize is too high.
But the feeling among the City hierarchy is that Sanchez, desperate to leave the Emirates, will opt for a deal which will make him the highest-paid player at Old Trafford – with reports suggesting he will bag £400,000 a week
