The Belgian international has been the west Londoners’ star performer so far this season, scoring seven goals and registering two assists for Maurizio Sarri’s side.
Hazard is miles ahead of his Chelsea team-mates in the goalscoring charts, with Pedro trailing him in second place with three strikes to his hame.
Rudiger, like many others, has been thoroughly impressed by the 26-year-old’s form this season but has insisted he can only shoulder the goalscoring burden for so long.
“We need to learn to kill matches. It’s not only on Eden’s shoulders. We need the other players to help him with scoring,” the Germany international said.
He has been doing his job very well again, but the other guys must score too – Giroud, Morata, Willian have to score.
“As a team, all of us have to provide more goals, the defenders as well.
“At the end of the day the best scorers are Hazard and Pedro, but with the quality of players we have on the pitch, it’s (the lack of goals from elsewhere) not too good.”
Hazard is thrilled with his form but isn’t concerned about being the league’s top goalscorer at the end of the season.
target is to win something every year. I want to win trophies,” he said after his Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool last Wednesday.
“It is not important how many goals I score. You know me, I don’t care about that. I just want to enjoy my football and win games.
“At the moment I am scoring goals, that is why everyone is talking for me to be in the top three (players).
“It is a pleasure to be there. I just want to keep going. I am the same player as two years ago, three years ago.
I ’m now in a period that I score a lot of goals, and hopefully I keep on scoring. It won’t be simple. Definitely not in the Premier League.
“I’m feeling good since the FA Cup final. Something you see.
“I play in strong teams, here with Chelsea and with Belgium who were very good at the World Cup, and that helps me to perform better too.”
Hazard and his Blues team-mates will be back in action on Thursday night in their second Europa League game of the season, in which they’ll welcome Hungarian minnows Videoton to Stamford Bridge.
