RIO FERDINAND has boldly suggested that Paul Pogba can still make things work with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

Pogba failed to curry favour under Mourinho last term at Old Trafford.
After lifting the World Cup with France earlier this summer, Pogba will be hoping to carry his form on the international stage onto the club scene next term.
Recent reports have indicated that Barcelona are exploring a player-plus-cash deal which would see Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes come to Manchester United with Pogba heading to the Nou Camp.
While Pogba and Mourinho haven’t always seen eye-to-eye, United legend Ferdinand still thinks there is time for them to patch up their relationship.

Ferdinand thinks the onus is on Pogba to prove his worth.
“He was brilliant in Russia, he was effective and did the job he had to do for the team,” Ferdinand told the Daily Mail.

“It's down to the manager to get the best out of him, setting the team up and setting Pogba up in the right way to achieve the best.
“But Pogba needs to play his part in that.
He has seen what works for him to win matches and win trophies and he has to bring that to United
It's a case of the player and manager getting an understanding for each other and getting the best out of the player.”
Ferdinand’s comments are in stark contrast to those of Jamie Redknapp, who thinks the proposed Barcelona swap deal is nonsense.

He said: “They have to solve that problem and get him back into a team playing like he did for France
I wouldn’t do that deal. No chance!”
