Arsenal have announced the signing of Matteo Guendouzi from Ligue 2 side Lorient for an undisclosed fee.
Guendouzi said: “It’s something I’m immensely proud of. Arsenal have always been the team closest to my heart and a side I’ve wanted to join since I was a child.
“It gives me great pride – it’s incredible. I hope I can do great things here.”




Guendouzi will wear the number 29 shirt and could make his Arsenal debut on Saturday in a pre-season friendly against Boreham Wood.
N'Zonzi deal setback
Arsenal’s move for Steven N'Zonzi could falter because of a lack of funds.
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth said on the Transfer Talk podcast: "As far as N’Zonzi is confirmed, we know they are in talks with Sevilla.
It does make sense. Unai Emery was manager of Sevilla and he managed Nzonzi in his final year in charge of Sevilla.
"The information we've been getting throughout this window is that there's something of a limited transfer budget.
"They've spent a fair bit so far and we're told something along the lines of £50m.
To fund a big signing you'd have to say of someone like Nzonzi who would probably command upwards of £30m, I'd think there'd have to be departures first to fund a move for someone like Nzonzi."

Flight tracker
Lucas Torreira says he didn’t realise Arsenal fans were tracking his flight from Russia before completing his move.
The Uruguayan was asked for this thoughts and said: “Yes, for a while I’ve been receiving loads of messages in my social media accounts.
“I guess it's all down to the fact there were talks of me moving to Arsenal even before the World Cup started. I am very happy and I hope I can meet all the fans very soon.”

Cristian Pavon has signed a new contract with Boca Juniors, ending hopes of a move to Arsenal this summer.
The Gunners have been linked with a move for the Argentina winger, who scored six goals and provided 11 assists in 26 Primera Division games for Boca last season.
But Boca president Daniel Angelici has been determined to keep hold of the 22-year-old and has revealed the attacker will stay at the club.
He said: "Pavon stays, signed for four more years. The clause is 50 million euros, which was what we wanted to be calm. We wanted to sell it when we understood that it was the necessary moment.
“So, for now, we want Boca fans to enjoy it. We talked with his representative, with him and his family and we reached an agreement.
“He knows that his future in the short and medium term is in Europe, but now that he enjoys and makes the Boca fans enjoy, they love him so much."

Arsenal appeared to have completed a deal for young France midfielder Matteo Guendouzi after a video emerged of the 19-year-old signing a contract.
The Gunners are yet to officially announced the move but the footage shows Guendouzi with head of recruitment Sven Mislintat and contract negotiator Huss Fahmy.
Guendouzi is expected to cost around £7million.
Martins to Atletico
Gelson Martins is on the verge of joining Atletico Madrid, according to Portuguese outlet Record.
Martins was linked with a move to Arsenal after a row with Sporting CP president Bruno de Carvalho.
But the winger will now move to La Liga and play under Diego Simeone.
