Kenedy has today joined Newcastle United on loan until the end of the season.
The Brazilian, 21, moves to St James’s Park having made five appearances for Chelsea this season.
A versatile left-sided player, Kenedy moved to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2015 from Fluminense and netted the fastest Premier League goal of that campaign when he opened the scoring in an away game at Norwich after just 39 seconds.

This season he has featured in both domestic cup competitions for the Blues, and is ineligible for this weekend’s FA Cup fourth round game at Stamford Bridge.

Newcastle are currently 15th in the Premier League table.
After Mirandinha, Fumaça and Cláudio Caçapa, Kenedy becomes the fourth Brazilian to play for Newcastle, and he cited boss Rafa Benítez as a key influence in his decision to move to the North East.
“I’m so happy with this opportunity at Newcastle. They’ve opened the door to me to come here, show my potential and come and play for Newcastle,” he said.
“It’s a traditional club and Rafa Benítez is a fantastic, amazing coach. Christian Atsu, as well – we trained together at Chelsea and know each other, and he said good things about the club. So it was easy to take this decision.
