The Blues have endured a poor period of form of late, winning one of their last seven fixtures in 90 minutes.
Antonio Conte has also been fighting battles off the pitch.
Chelsea's hierarchy are at odds with the Italian, with tensions rising over the club's transfer dealings.

Conte has publicly criticised the board and recently claimed he has no say in the recruitment process.
But as he tries to get his side back on track after Wednesday's Carabao Cup defeat, the former Juventus boss could be without four key men for the visit of Newcastle on Sunday.
Speaking to the press today, Conte said, "I don’t know, it is very difficult to say today how many days they [Morata and Courtois] need.
"Morata has this problem in his back.
Courtois took a kick in his ankle.
"Fabregas trained with us today and tomorrow I will check his condition. This is good news for us.
"But Willian is out.
"Today with the doctor he would be having a scan to evaluate the injury.
Hopefully it is not serious."
After Wednesday's semi-final defeat to Arsenal, Conte will be itching to end his cup curse.

The 48-year-old has never won a domestic cup competition since becoming a manager.
But Conte has highlighted the importance of the FA Cup.
"Every competition is important, we lost against Arsenal and now there is another competition," he added.
"As you know this competition is very difficult.
"There is also an opponent and the opponent has the same ambition."
